Oak Alley Plantation wedding photography | Page & Jonathan wedding 9.25.10

For my very first time at Oak Alley Plantation to photograph a wedding, September 25, 2010 was certainly a wet one. The rain added a fine mist over the plantation grounds and also into the hair and clothes of everyone. Despite the rain up until literally an hour before the ceremony, Page and Jonathan Wyrick, the bride and groom, both residing in Lake Charles, LA, were married outdoors under the first row of giant live oaks near the plantation home. It was a dark ceremony but thank goodness the couple decided to see each other before the ceremony by doing the “first look.” This allowed us to capture the best photos of the couple and their wedding party and families together in the best light.

The wedding rings, one of my favorite details to photograph on the wedding day, shot on one of the bridesmaid's purple dress.
The bride squeezes in one last bite before she completes her makeup application.
Rain, rain go away. But I love your ethereal effect on the image.
Max, the 2nd photographer at this wedding, took this through a window inside the house looking at the unsuspecting bride.
The pale light accenting the trees down the alley of oaks is insanely beautiful and is ultra soft due to the overcast light from the rain clouds overhead.
Page was caught off guard for a brief instant. Beautiful.
One final portrait of Page before she sees Jonathan for the first time on their wedding day.
The anticipation Page is feeling at this moment is just about killing her. She waits patiently as her groom opens the door behind her.
Jonathan finally opens the door to see his bride.
Page catches her first glimpse of Jonathan as he opens the door.

They were both as happy as kids in a candy shop.

I couldn't imaging a better backdrop for their wedding portraits.

Goofy couple
Page is bursting at the seams with joy.
Such a precious flower girl!

Killer kiss. I love the colors in the background.
