Holiday splendor & wedding celebrations

One of the wedding bands Nolan John Edwards slipped onto Olivia Perego’s finger as they exchanged vows at Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church in New Orleans Dec. 18, 2020 was the same one dad Nolan slipped onto the finger his mom, the late Katy Edwards. The second was a matching band he had specially made for his bride.

They went perfectly with Katy’s engagement ring that Nolan John gave Olivia when he proposed while on vacation in Pensacola.  “We were on the beach taking pictures with our dog Bella when I had her look at a tag on the collar that said ‘Made you look!,’” shared Nolan John. “By the time she turned around to yell at me, I was already down on one knee.”

The two met when they were 3 years old. Nolan John’s mom and Olivia’s mom Lucretia were in grad school together, so the families had been friends for years. And there was lots of family on hand for the wedding. Dad Alan Perego walked his daughter down the aisle and sister Ava Perego served as maid of honor. The bride’s mom and her grandparents, Lena and Louis Peranio, witnessed the exchanging of vows as did dad Nolan Edwards; the groom’s grandmother, Imelda Bes; and his maternal aunts and uncles, Angela Harvey Elaine Besh, Laura Bell, John Besh and Stephen Besh. Fred Watson was his buddy’s best man. The reception took place at the historic Roosevelt Hotel, which was decked out in all its holiday splendor.

Olivia is an oncology nurse; Nolan John is an electronics design engineer.
