Black & white portrait at home in Baton Rouge

Some portraits are best presented alone, while others work well in groupings. For other images, color can be a deterrent while black & white is intriguing. Such is the case for the portrait above of Baton Rouge native Campbell, a 15 year old ballet dancer. She has been dancing since age 2. Campbell’s mother wanted timeless portraits of her daughter prior to the dancing shots. The above image is one of my favorite portraits of a young woman on the verge of adulthood.

The next two photos below are taken among intensely textured cloud cover in downtown Baton Rouge during sunset. My plan was to shoot downtown among buildings prior to sunset, but the clouds caught my attention and I couldn’t resist the backdrop.
