Destination weddings are the most fun to photograph, and Lauren and Scott made this Watercolor Inn & Resort wedding are an absolute blast! They were plain fun to just hang out with for that matter! I had the pleasure of shooting their engagement photos in La Jolla, California in August and then a couple months later I shot their wedding at the Watercolor Resort in Florida in October 2013!
The rehearsal at Watercolors plus the wedding inside the Fish Out Of Water Restaurant were a blast with this entertaining, happy couple! This resort is one of my favorite venues right on the Florida Gulf Coast, but Lauren and Scott were faced with what every couple dreads on their wedding day (well, at least gulf coast couples!) A HURRICANE scheduled to hit on the exact day of their wedding! Seriously, the eye of the storm was supposed to pass right over their happy union. They made the decision to move the ceremony inside the beautiful Fish Out Of Water Restaurant which faced the beach. As frantic and nerve-wracking as the time leading up to the wedding day was with the looming storm headed right their way, they were blessed with the most beautiful day. They were married in a beautiful ceremony indoors and then took the most amazing portraits on the beach at sunset! Definitely a picture-perfect day. Literally.
I’m so excited for these two and their future together and we wish them decades and decades of laughter and fun! You can feel the love and excitement in every photo of these two. Lauren has a special way of making every moment the most intense emotional experience for all those around her. Her face lights up with joy and her smile erupts into a glowing beam of light. Enjoy the little sneak peak of their most unique day!

The last photo of the night on the evening of the rehearsal dinner was so special. The sax player from the party band Big Fun Band played as the couple danced. This shot gave me chills as I took it.
