I jump at the chance to photograph anything in St. Francisville. It doesn’t matter if it’s a children photo session, bridal session, senior in high school, event, family session, regardless, I love it. St. Francisville is a timeless natural area that is far removed from the hustle and bustle of larger cities. It’s got that desired quaint, small town feel and I lose myself there.
I photographed this family at two locations, Greenwood Plantation and Butler Greenwood Bed and Breakfast. While I’ve photographed weddings before at Greenwood Plantation, I’ve never been to Butler Greenwood prior to this day. Both locations offer an impressive backdrop for natural photos with lots of hanging Spanish Moss from century old Live Oak trees. Butler Greenwood has a small pond while Greenwood Plantation has row after row of Live Oaks where limbs hang to the ground. The actual Greenwood Plantation mansion is extremely tall and has thick white columns wrapping around the porch, completely surrounding the home.
The Wilson family commissioned me to photograph their family as I’ve photographed a few weddings in the family (including extended family). The relationship I’ve built with this family is priceless and I hope to continue to photograph their children, grandchildren and of course, their Cavelier King Charles Spaniels. These dogs are so adorable and loving! Enjoy the photos and please leave your feedback.
