St. Francisville Wedding Photography at Afton Villa Gardens | Alicia & Cory 3.26.11

Alicia and Cory’s wedding back in March of 2011 was held at the beautiful and majestic Afton Villa Gardens in St. Francisville, LA. This gorgeous venue was established in 1849 and is one of the best hidden jewels in St. Francisville. The fresh spring weather was perfect the day of the wedding, but nothing compared to what a beautiful bride Alicia made. Cory was glowing the whole day every time he caught a glance at his bride! If you have ever been to St. Francisville in the Spring time, you know it is a hard sight to beat! All the flowers in the garden were in bloom, including the tulips, which made an amazing setting for their first look at each other before the ceremony. It was a true Louisiana wedding reception to end the night, complete with a funky Cajun Zydeco band! Below are the wedding vendors from this event.

Engagement session in New Orleans | Alicia & Cory 11.28.10

Engagement sessions, even those in majestic New Orleans (French Quarter) can sometimes be mundane if the couple doesn’t bring a certain magic to the table. Alicia and Cory certainly brought on the magic! In late November this super fun couple met me in the Marigny district of New Orleans and from the beginning of the early afternoon session we were all on point. Though I normally don’t shoot in mid-day light due to harsh shadows, the winter months are more forgiving with the direction of the sun and there were tons of alleys to shield the light. I had so much fun with the couple I didn’t want to stop shooting to catch my St. Louis flight that afternoon.

We went through Jackson Square, found gorgeous backlight, water pouring from a balcony, and amazingly rich color. Alicia’s sultry looks made for some nice eye candy as she worked the camera. On March 26, 2011 Alicia and Cory marry at Afton Villa Gardens in St. Francisville, LA. As you scroll through the photos, please feel free to make comments. Cory didn't even feel as if the hat fit his "look" but you certainly can't tell from the photos. He's such a natural. He never could get the toss right.

One of my favorites! I enjoy seeing my clients lay down in monkey grass. They have so much trust in the end result which is BALLER!

Kristin Jarvis and Matt Marrs tied the knot on a beautiful late May day at Hemingbough in St. Francisville. The couple now resides in the Mandeville/Covington area. When I first met Sydney & Michael I knew they were going to be an easy couple to work with because they both appreciate my artistic & documentary style of wedding photography. Their true fun and whimsical personalities came out during our day trip to New Orleans for their French Quarter engagement photography session. Then I convinced Sydney that doing the first look was the best way to do her pre-ceremony photos so that not only could we capture them in their most fresh moments but also help them take the edge off of everything and look each other in the eye, having a moment to share their feelings with each other. Sydney later told me that she remembers nothing from her wedding day except those few moments she spent with Michael during the first look. That made me smile!

All the flowers were artistically designed by Lani Guilbeau of Fleur Du Jour, one of best Baton Rouge florists around.
