Mac Email Attachment Problems | a solution for Apple Mac Mail app users

I am an avid Mac user, but not one of those fanatics that sees nothing wrong with the most successful and creative computer super corporation on the planet. Apple does have its flaws, especially when trying to communicate to the PC-dominated world. Every once in a while a client of mine expresses to me that he or she was unable to view an image or other file type that I had included in an email. I exclusively use the Apple Mail application that comes installed on every Apple computer. After doing some research and coming to terms with the fact that it is indeed a Mac problem, it has become apparent that Apple’s Mail program has a few issues that affect many PC and possibly Linux users. Most often they simply can’t save files that were included in the email.

The problem lies in the way the Apple Mail app embeds .jpg and pdf files as well as other files inside the email being sent out. Instead of attaching it to the message like normal email clients, the mail program embeds it into the email which leads to some PC-based email clients and webmail users not being able to save the “attachment”.

I don’t plan to go into great depth regarding the technical details of the problem as that is not the purpose of this post.

I have found a viable solution that is working for me and I have tested it with a few different systems on the receiving end of the emails being sent. So I thought I’d pass it on as I couldn’t find a lot of good info when searching for it.

I am using Mac Attachments Iconizer (version 2)
Found here: Mac Attachments Iconizer (a real solution)

Disclosure: The programmer and I have had no contact, I am not being paid or compensated to advertise this. I am simply sharing the information.

If you are a Mac user and have had similar problems with your Mac mail attachments I suggest you check Iconizer out. There is a free version as well as a pay version. Taken from the programmer’s website, “Download an unlimited trial version of Mail Attachments Iconizer (a free update for registered users).” The registered version is definitely affordable (USD $14.99) if you can’t tolerate frequent reminders that you are using a free version.

That’s all for now!
