Riley Roedel turned 1 year old! Children photography has recently become more a passion of mine than ever before and I’ve enjoyed documenting Riley’s first year in this world. This is our most recent shoot on her 1 year birthday. We did the session in my studio.

Destination weddings are always fun, and photographing them is even better. But being allowed to not only photograph but also form lasting friendships with a few dozen people in a foreign European country is best. The wedding of Kristin & James Carpenter (both living in Washington, D.C) took place over 5 days from June 14-19, 2010 in the touristy Croatian city of Dubrovnik. It borders the Adriatic Sea and is not far from Italy. It’s the most beautiful location to travel, but so much more to have a wedding there. Be prepared to view photos from the most epic wedding of my nearly 10 years as a wedding photographer.

During my most recent destination wedding in St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands) I woke up at 4:30am to photograph the entire sunrise. I started shooting these frames once every 10 seconds at about 4:45am and stopped photographing around 5:45 or 6am. I’ll be playing around with time lapse photography using my Nikon D3s camera’s built in intervalometer and posting my results to the blog.
Wow, Panama City Beach, Florida provides a gorgeous backdrop for a fun destination engagement photo session! Hunter, a Marine who trains other Marines to scuba dive, is now living there so we did his engagement session with his gorgeous fiance’ Kaitlyn. They will be married in Denham Springs on Nov. 13, 2010.
Enjoy the connection between these two lovers as well as the landscape. Their energy and enthusiasm for the engagement session pushed me to be creative.

Here’s a behind the scenes video shot and edited by Lauren Haro who is the marketing brains behind Eye Wander Photo. She assisted me on the fun engagement session.

Hemingbough is a beautiful setting for a wedding, especially when you’ve got the likes of Baton Rouge’s top notch wedding coordinator Allie Webster of Weddings By Allie as well as flowers by Baton Rouge’s premier florist, Lani Guilbeau of Fleur Du Jour as your vendors. Kristin Jarvis and Matt Marrs tied the knot on a beautiful late May day at Hemingbough in St. Francisville. The couple now resides in the Mandeville/Covington area. Check out Kristin and Matt’s wedding photography slideshow below. View in full screen if you like.
